Made from my Mother's Ceilings is the first book of poetry and spoken word performances pieces by Jahman Ariel Hill. The book, which spawned out of a class project, is a "gender scrapbook" that combines humor, poetry, and academic training to challenge the constructs of both race and gender in five sections: foundation, body, language, institution, and theory. Featuring poems such as Alternative Facts for Black History Month, Cash Me Ousside, and Masculinity Says, Jahman attempts to provide readers with an examination of gender through the lens of his own personal experiences.
